Founded over to 35 years ago to build Chiller and Cooling
Systems for Industrial processes, Berg has grown to be highly regarded designer/manufacturer and project manager of state-of-the-art process cooling and freezing equipment systems for many industries including: Plastics; Energy; Pulp - Paper; Graphics; Metal Working; Chemical; Food Processing; Marine and others. Expansion through natural growth and acquisitions has BERG well positioned for the competitive nineties and into the next millennium.
BERG maintains a large engineering department, staffed with specialists experienced in the design of refrigeration, fluid pumping, heat transfer systems, overall project designs aided by advanced CAD systems and years of practical experience. Imaginative designs for heat recovery, energy savings, central control and monitoring setups are examples of our expertise and commitment to progress and commitment to progress in our industry.
From our modern 45,000 square foot manufacturing plant, located in suburban Toronto, Canada, our products range from small portable chillers to packaged and /or large custom central units; from small ice machines producing 10,000 lbs. of ice per day, to large units making 60 tons or more of ice per day (used extensively in the Fishing and Vegetable Growing Industries, Bakery, Meat Processing and Concrete). Maintenance and corrosion-free Cooling Towers made from rugged fiberglass, round out our cooling equipment line.
BERG SERVICE operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with continual, round-the-clock access to our well-stocked inventory, ensuring not only fast and constant response to requirements, but also a well-equipped response - a BERG exclusive for the industry. Our fully stocked factory service vehicles are telephone dispatched throughout the southern Ontario (Canada) region. In other major centers in Canada and the USA, as well as international points, our Factory Service Technicians are pleased to work in conjunction with associated service organizations capable of providing the same level of service.
Exports are worldwide, from a chiller unit on an oilrig in the Pacific, to central cooling systems in plastic plants in France, Hungary, Egypt, Zaire, Hong Kong, Chile, Mexico, etc., from a single ice machine at a meat plant in Moscow and a series of ice making plants in small fishing villages in Guyana, to very large ice plant installations in mainland
China. We supply our customers' requirements, with a commitment to quality and longevity.

The Automotive Industry
An injection molding application in the
automotive industry, where cooling water for
molds and hydraulics is piped to each machine
from a central mechanical room, maximizing floor
space and efficiency.
Fiberglass Cooling Towers
A 730-ton capacity cooling tower system designed
and built by Berg to cool a large welding system,
cutting fluids and hydraulic equipment. The
cooling system consists of multiple-cell cooling
towers, with a pump-tank set inside the plant.
Berg cooling towers enable users to take
advantage of utility benefits by providing "free
winter cooling", a feature available to all Berg
customers located in cooler climates.
Ice Machines
Berg ice machines are available in two air-cooled
formats and one water-cooled design, to meet the
demands of applications in the food processing,
construction and chemical industries. In
addition, they offer the versatility of producing
ice of varying thicknesses, from either salt
water or fresh water, with no equipment
modifications, simply a turn of a dial. Berg ice
machines can also be customized to satisfy
special requirements, such as plasma freezing.
Components in contact with ice or water are made
of stainless steel or food-grade plastic to meet
stringent government and industry standards for
health and hygiene.

Recirculating Chilling System
The central recirculating chilling system
controls the temperature of the rolls in the 9
unit heat set web printing press. Previously
cooled by city water, this chilling system saves
enough municipal water to supply 150 homes, and
saves the customer thousands of dollars each
month.
