Since 1975 Transduction has been an established manufacturer of reliable rack mount and panel mount computers, LCD monitors and custom chassis and cabinets for utilities, process control, military and telecom. We also offer highly reliable OPTO-22 based high density computer I/O components and systems for monitoring and control. Most rack and panel mount computers supplied by Transduction are based on a telecom grade single board computer design with a passive backplane for a larger number of ISA and PCI slots. These are for clients who are concerned with high reliability, longevity of product supply, and hardware and BIOS revision control. We have developed "high power" PC rack mounted computers with up to 20 PCI slots and 1000W and 1500W power supplies. Our "high power" computers are in use on Trident class nuclear submarines, aircraft carriers, reconnaissance aircraft, in nuclear power stations and specialized medical applications around the world. OEM contract enquiries are welcome for custom computers, systems and electronics/computer related metal chassis design and production. With chassis design we have been challenged by the most demanding clients in the world and we have gained their respect and approval.

Technology:
Transduction is an established manufacturer (since 1975) of reliable rack mount and panel mount computers, LCD monitors or custom chassis and cabinets for utilities, process control, industrial automation, military and telecom. We also offer highly reliable high density computer I/O components and systems for monitoring and control.
Most rack and panel mount computers supplied by Transduction are based on telecom grade single board computer design with a passive backplane for a larger number of ISA and PCI slots. These are for clients who are concerned with high reliability, longevity of product supply, and hardware and BIOS revision control.
While our prices are competitive we do not compromise on quality. All Transduction products have at least two or three year warranty, but they are designed to work for at least 10 years. We still maintain some computer systems supplied 25 years ago.
We have developed "high power" PC rack mount computers with 16 PCI slots and 1000W and 1500W power supplies. Our "high power" computers are in use on Trident class nuclear submarines, aircraft carriers, destroyers, reconnaissance aircraft, in nuclear power stations, Two US national laboratory's, air traffic control systems, and specialized medical applications around the world.
We have an installed base of over 30,000 computers that operate 24 hours a day in highly critical applications. All production and service records of each computer or system we have ever produced are maintained to assure maximum reliability and support.
We offer rapid prototype development services and we manufacture our products in Canada and Taiwan. Our manufacturing division in Taiwan gives us the opportunity to quote the most competitive volume pricing in the world.
OEM contract enquiries are welcome for custom computers, systems and electronics/computer related metal chassis design and production. With chassis design we have been challenged by the most demanding clients in the world and we have gained their respect and approval. We can make prototypes faster than our clients can write their Requests for Proposals...
Our resources include an experienced team of design engineers, precision CAD-CAM metal shop, test equipment and an environmental heat chamber for burn-in and thermal stress tests. We have developed many custom products for our clients to North American standards including all work related to regulatory approvals such as UL, CSA, TUV, CE and FCC.
Our stringent Quality Control program during last 20 years has been based on Canadian Standards Association CSA-Z299 programme, which is more applicable to short runs of specialized computer systems where technology changes very fast. However we are compatible and interfaced as an approved supplier to many of our ISO-9000 clients. We maintain log of each failure during production and in the field (PM) to spot any trends of failures over time to alert our clients if needed and to solve potential problems before they occur on customer site.
All test equipment at Transduction has been certified to National Standards and maintains computer controlled environmental chamber for temperature, humidity and acoustical testing of our products. Vibration and shock test services are contracted from an approved laboratory.

Sector:
Plant Information: Total Plant Size (Areas sq ft): We have 20,000 sq. feet of space dedicated to computer manufacturing and testing. Our facilities include a fully equipped CAD-CAM CNC metal chassis shop and specialized computer assembly shop with computer controlled heat chamber. Our specialized test equipment includes dynamic power supply loads to check each component over the full range of operating temperature. We keep records of every computer system and maintain service logs of all failures to track long term reliability and to detect any potential problems. All parts are traceable to the specific purchase order and each component failure is always analyzed and documented. The result is reliability of 99.90 %.
Key / Major Clients: Most of our clients request that their names be confidential. By sector however our products are successfully used in air traffic control systems, several national laboratories, nuclear power plants, post offices, telecommunications, defence (including Trident class nuclear subs, destroyers, and aircraft carriers) missle defense research and manufacturers around the world.
