Since 2005 SDV Canada has been handling the ocean and
airfreight shipments of mining equipment and construction materials originated from Europe, Asia, Canada, and Africa to the various mining sites in Niger, Guinea, and Burkina Faso, including customs clearance.

Project: Upgrade of the Levis Substation
In 2006 SDV handled the transport of a 195 MT Areva transformer from Halifax to Charny, Quebec by rail and then from Charny to Levis by truck. This transformer which was originally shipped from Areva in the UK measured 9.75 m long x 3.85 m wide x 4.60 m high. SDV Canada supervised the shipment from the port of discharge in Halifax up to the final destination including supervision at all transfers points to other transport modes. SDV also provided specific handling instructions to the rail company including humping, bumper cars, and securing and lashing onto railcars by
rail-approved specialists. The road transport was arranged by SDV directly with licensed heavy transport specialist (no broker).
SNC Lavalin: Project: Saihnahda Gas Plant Project: Since 2003 SDV has been handling the transport from Italy,
the USA,Canada, the UK, India, and Belgium to the project site in Muscat, Oman. Services provided included marshalling, receiving,export crating, and packaging, purchasing containers, stuffing containers, and specialized services for over-dimensional and heavy lift cargoes. Approximately 115 MT was shipped by air, 400 containers by sea, and 1700 FT was shipped break bulk and LCL.

Project: Alcoa€™s Aluminerie Becancour Plant Project: In 2005 SDV handled complete freight forwarding services from the supplier€™s plant in Dunkerque, France to Alcoa€™s project site in Becancour, Canada. Cargoes shipped included a 76 MT transformer(82 M3) and about 125 MT of accessories which were loaded ontotrucks for transport by barge and then transferred onto a special break bulk vessel for transport from Dunkerque to Becancour. At Becancour, the cargo was offloaded from the vessel and transferred onto trucks for transport to the site in Becancour including offloading
at the site.
Canadian Red Cross: Within the context of relief efforts to assist the TSUNAMI
victims, in 2005 SDV Canada chartered an aircraft through which it sent 35 tons of equipment to the humanitarian workers dispatched to Rangoon, Myanmar, and transported more than 260 m3 by commerc
