Established in 1985, 5th Wheel Training Institute is "registered as a private career college under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005". We offer training in Heavy Equipment, TTES, Class DZ, and Class AZ.
Our Heavy Equipment programs offer trade certification with such equipment as excavators, back-hoe loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, forklifts, dump trucks and graders.
We now offer a Truck, Trailer and Equipment Servicer program which is endorsed by employers and meets current industry demands.
With our Class DZ Truck Driver program we emphasize personalized learning, on a variety of equipment configurations, engines and transmissions.
Our Class AZ Truck Driver program is certified by the Professional Truck Driver Institute (PTDI) of Washington, DC. This certification is now recognized by the insurance industry, acknowledging this training in lieu of two years of driving experience.
We also offer two campuses, with residences. You can choose from our North Bay-Timmins Campus or our London-Sarnia Campus.
