Over 15 years ago, Assie Industries Ltd. started doing custom work for Bourgault Industries Ltd. At the same time, they started manufacturing straight-leg hopper bottom cones for grain bins and in 1985, began constructing cones with a V-leg tm* configuration. Assie Industries also manufactures the Uni-Blade, a tractor drawn grader.
Assie products and Sakundiak Grain Bins are marketed through in-house sales and a dealer network for cones. *V-leg is a trademark of Assie Industries Ltd.

Technology:
THE UNI-BLADE - a low cost tool for grading, leveling and ditching: Standard and heavy-duty 12' and 16' tractor-drawn graders with a one-piece I-beam and tubular frame. The Uni-Blade has been designed so the blade raises and lowers, tilts either way for ditching or grading and oscillates 45 degrees either direction; hydraulically controlled by three sets of tractor valves. The blade, featuring standard replaceable cutting edge, attaches to the frame through a massive pin and hinge assembly.
The Uni-Blade has two axles, each operating independently by hydraulics, fitted with large rubber tires for stable footing on any soil condition. The three point mount with angle brace design provides additional strength to withstand the side thrust when ditching. 12' models require 80-140 hp and the 16' need 4-wheel drive with 150-200 hp. Units have been purchased by contractors, farmers, Villages and Counties, commercial feedlots operators, landscapers, etc. with applications of road building,
ditching, trenching, leveling, street maintenance, snow removal, cleaning feedlots and maintaining oilfields, gravel airstrips and forestry roads.
HOPPER BOTTOM CONES for Grain Bins - Straight-leg or V-leg(tm) configeration: Assie's pioneered the idea of fashioning the cone body in the shape of a Dixie cup. All cones are manufactured with the standard features of double bands (outer band punched to fit any grain bin and the inner band for added strenght), tubular legs and radial arms, inspection hole, slide discharge, primed and painted. The V-leg(tm) design provides the natural strength of a triange, especially beneficial for larger capacity bins where added safety factor is required. Cones are custom built to fit any make and size of grain bin up to 27' in diameter. V-leg(tm) cones are also available in "bolt-together" to stack to save freight on long distance hauls. Options: Skid bases and Inverted-V aeration.
