SCBN Telecommunications Inc. is a facilities based provider of
fibre-optic network connectivity though-out the Simcoe County
region. Currently the company has, in-place and operational,
over 925 kl of lit fibre-optic networking. Within the Simcoe
County area more than 250 building sites have been wired to the
fibre-optic plant. Including all public and separate schools, 6
hospitals, 5 health units, all college campus sites, 25
libraries and more than 30 other county and municipal offices.
Building of this extensive data network was completed at the end
of 2002. It is also, now the network service provide for a
growing number of local business and Internet Service
Providers.
SCBN delivers fault-free data networking and Internet access
across Simcoe County on widely distributed in place fibre-optic
network. The network reach is further expanded through its inter-
connections with Hydro One Telecom and other fibre-optic based
Utility Telecom companies in Ontario. The service provided is
high speed Ethernet connectivity at 10, 100 or 1,000 mb/s. This
allows businesses and organizations to bridge local area
networks from one office to another and share valuable
information and resources. Also offices can connect to the
Internet on their own dedicated Internet gateway access, without
fear of sharing or deteriorating Internet services.
