The organization renders employability services. They are centered around 8 key aspects of employability development and are offered through group formations as well.
All services are offered in French and English. The sessions last 7 to 10 weeks. Both the group training and the individual services are centered on the Creative method of Job Search created by R. N. Bolles (author of ‘What Colour is your Parachute€™).
The 8 key aspects of employability are: 1. Evaluation of Employment Needs based on job market information.
Determining the profile and the employability needs of a person based on knowledge previously acquired through their studies, their profession and past experiences.
2. Current Job Market Information
Collecting information on the labor market to adapt studies and career choices as well as help to determining the nature and the reach of the different training programs. Making the link between banks of employment on a national scale as well as provincial job banks such as the one in liaison with Emploi-Québec.
3. Preparation and Integration of Employment
Developing aptitudes for personal management, teamwork and job search; thus preparing the individual for the job market and matching them with a suitable career.
4. Career Counseling and Orientation
Working out a career plan and clarifying career objectives according to personal interests, personality and aptitudes. Identifying barriers to employment through counseling and orientation.
5. Competency Services
Reaching a level of academic aptitudes in language and computer literacy that is considered to be essential for the contemporary job market. The demand for highly qualified labor force requires the person to be part of a continuous of improvement, recycling and training process that last all of their professional life.
6. Partnerships for the accessibility, the advancement and the development of Employment
Developing professional competencies, aptitudes for personal management and teamwork skills through working experiences, professional training, internships in companies, programs of professional mentorship and projects of personal advancement for the youth labor force.
The collaborators making it possible to offer these services are: governments, employers as well as private and public educational organizations.
7. Specific Support Services
Effective transition towards employment. Personal and situational support services necessary to improving the employability of an individual. Support in various languages and through accompaniment and follow-ups.
8. Intercultural Training and Diversity Management Services
Training to professionals in intervention in the employability sector, private and institutional, linked to the Centre Génération Emploi. Intercultural competencies, adaptation of services and reasonable accommodation in the workplace are recurrent themes.
