CopperMoon began as an Aboriginal web design and multimedia company eight years ago, and quickly evolved into western Canada€™s first full service Aboriginal communications agency. In the first three years of business, CopperMoon saw triple digit year-over-year growth, peaking at 450% growth in 2003. Since then the business focus has moved away from small scale communications projects to complete communications problem solving and design projects that encompass many disciplines.
Since its inception, CopperMoon has pioneered the combination of Aboriginal philosophy with mainstream tools. This approach most recently resulted in the award-winning cedar-bound book entitled €œMusqueam: A Living Culture,€? and has influenced every project in CopperMoon€™s portfolio. In 2009 CopperMoon principal Jacob Beaton was awarded the prestigious BC Aboriginal Business awards. Jacob won as "Aboriginal Male Young Entrepreneur of the Year."

Testimonial: €œEverything about my CopperMoon experience was beyond expectation. I especially appreciated the "stepping outside the box" approach and attitude in dealing with us as First Nations. Too often, we're subjected to approaches based on past "consultant" methods of [usually] retired bureaucrats that isn't much different from government policies and programs. From the start CopperMoon went way beyond that. I like how you use local knowledge and talent, how you enhance the visions of the client, and how short the timelines are for the work being done. I especially like how local visions are created and/or made acceptable for international eyes/understanding.€?

€œThe success of the internal and external communications data collection and reporting is mainly due to having CM consultants spending one-on-one time or drawing from large group discussions with key employees, committee members, leadership, and elders throughout the project duration. It was delightful to review the scope of the creative brief which accurately reflected the opinions and values of the community and served as a basis for developing data collection instruments for enhancing communications and development of the First Nations and corporate Governance structures.€?
