The Origins
In the late 1800's, George Arthur's Savoy began working as a
floor boy for National Blank Book Co. Ltd. in Holyoke,
Massachusetts. Over time, through hard work and dedication, he
rose to the position of General Sales Manager. In 1917, Dominion
Blank Book Co. Ltd. was incorporated as the Canadian subsidiary
of National. Four years later, George Arthur acquired Dominion
and moved his family to Canada.
For nearly thirty years, Dominion grew steadily, from six
original employees who had come from the U. S. to over 100
Canadian employees. Upon George Arthur's death in 1951, Harolde
James, one of his four sons, took over as President. Over the
next 20 years, under his leadership, Dominion became one of the
leading manufacturers of office stationery products in Canada.
The year 1972 saw George Morin, the third generation, take over
the business and bring in a period of great modernization. In
1981, Dominion Blank Book Co. Ltd. changed its name to Dominion
Blueline Inc., incorporating its Bluelineâ trademark and
benefiting from the strong market recognition of its blue-
covered
books.
Dominion returned to its roots in 1986 with the creation of its
own American subsidiary, Blueline Inc. Harolde Michael, became
the fourth generation to take over as President, in 1988. In
1992, Dominion entered the field of computer accessories with
the
successful launch of the Connectionsâ product line.
Two years later, in 1994, Dominion acquired the Brownlineâ range
of seasonal and accounting products, confirming its leadership
position in the Canadian marketplace. During the 1990's Dominion
also became a truly North American player with its sales effort
throughout Central and South America.
In March 1998, Dominion Blueline Inc. completed the sale of its
envelope division to Supremex. The sale of this division
enabled
Dominion to pursue strategic acquisitions and become an
important
North American supplier.
In September 1998, Blueline acquired Rediform, a division of
Moore U.S.A. Inc. Rediform is a key producer of business forms
and ad specialty products in the United States, with a
manufacturing and distribution facility in Dallas, Texas.
In December 1998, Blueline also acquired the
business forms product line of Wilson Jones from ACCO Brands
Inc., one of two lines of paper products. This Wilson Jones
line
will be manufactured and distributed by Rediform throughout the
United States.
For Dominion Blueline Inc., 1998 will go down in history as one
of the most important in terms of transitioning from an almost
exclusive Canadian manufacturer to becoming a truly North
American supplier.
Finally, in June 1999, Blueline signed a purchase and sale
agreement with Avery Dennison Office Products Company for the
acquisition of the Avery-brand telephone message book business.

Products made of recycled products have a quality look and feel
because only premium grade papers are used.
Perfect binding gives books more strength and durability! The
loose sheets which make up the book are fanned individually
against a revolving glue roller so that each page picks up a
line
of glue on both sides.
Each page is therefore secured to the base of neighboring pages
as well as to the book€™s spine. Blueline accounting books lie
completely flat with every opening because of this exclusive
cold-glue process.
Coil convenience
Blueline coil books feature covers and pages that can be folded
back to take up less space and lie perfectly flat for easier
writing.
