Environmental Profile
DTE pioneered a systematic approach that fully integrates our design and production capabilities; from planning, engineering design and proto-typing through to manufacturing and installations. This system, a precedent setting concept over twenty years ago, is still at the foundation of DTE's reputation for reliable products and performance.
DTE Tunnel Composting Systems ¿ are true in-vessel aerobic composting systems. These systems are single batch, modular, computer monitored and controlled and have automatic air recirculation systems. These systems are filled and emptied with a highly specialized DTE designed and manufactured material handling system.
DTE Bunker Composting Systems ¿ are enclosed aerobic composting systems. These systems are single batch, modular, computer monitored and controlled, with DTE's specialized airjet system. Bunker systems are filled with loaders or with a DTE designed and manufactured fill system.
DTE Bio-Filters ¿ are state of the art systems which can be used with Tunnel or Bunker Composting Systems. DTE bio-filters provide control and virtual elimination of odours for composting systems as well as for other operations, which have off-site odor effects, such as sewage treatment plants, and rendering plants.
DTE Windrow Turners ¿ are self-propelled straddle type machines designed for efficient and effective composting. DTE windrow turners are manufactured with North American standard components for ease of replacement and maintenance. DTE turners are designed to produce efficient windrow profiles that help reduce the amount of anaerobic activity by enhancing natural convection, thereby lessening the impact of unwanted odours. DTE turners can be equipped to add water while turning. Various options are available for the turners.
DTE Material Handling Systems ¿ can be installed into almost any type of operation. They distribute and/or mix a range of materials ranging from sulphur to a wide variety of agricultural substrates, including compost and compostable materials.
DTE has designed and implemented eight Tunnel Composting Systems of various capacities since 1981 and six Bunker Composting Systems since 1995. DTE has designed and manufactured over fifty compost turners of various designs since 1976. These technologies have been successfully utilized in the bioremediation industry. DTE has designed and implemented two composting bio-filters since 1998.
DTE partnered with Olds College in Alberta to help establish a Composting Center at the College. The Composting Center with DTE collaboration has conducted successful research projects involving pulp mill sludge, paunch manure and for bioremediation of hydrocarbon contaminated soils. DTE has previously been technically qualified for organic municipal solid waste composting projects in the United States and Canada.
DTE has extensive experience in supplying either a single piece of equipment or a complete design, supply and installation of systems for material handling or composting.
The equipment and systems designed, manufactured and installed by Double T Equipment Manufacturing Ltd. help to turn organic waste into valuable and useful soil conditioner. As well, these technologies are applicable to the bioremediation field, particularly when aerobic conditions are necessary for the successful completion of remediation.
