- Started in Scarborough in 1962 as a plastic injection moulder.
- Manufacturer of consumer items.
- Early 1980`s began moulding parts for the Toilet Manufacturing
industry.
- Competition from foreign markets lowered sales due strictly to
price.
- Needed to find market we could concentrate on rather than have
a variety of products with low margins and very little volume.
- The initial thought was to offer our product to the retail
market by packaging a complete line of related hardware and
plumbing merchandise, however we found that a large number of
packagers were already years ahead of our production levels.
- In April 1990 the Mantia family purchased from the Ott family
it`s 50% of Elka shares.
- A decision was made to become a specialty manufacture of Toilet
Tank Trip Levels to the OEM market.
- We decided to condense our product line and discontinue custom
moulding as a whole.
- Knowing that the 6 toilet manufacturers (at that time) were
based in North America, we geared our production to meet the
needs of 9,000,000 toilets manufactured year after year.
- We focused on the many changes in styles and colours of
toilets.
- We presently offer over 30 different styles of Toilet Handles,
in over a 150 different colours.
- We manufacture a product that is durable and meets the
demanding needs of the large Toilet manufactures such as
American Standard, Inc., Kohler Co., and Eljer Plumbingware.
- We supply approximately 6,500,000 toilet handles to the OEM
North American market with our Plastic Toilet Trip Levers.
Another 2,000,000 toilet handles to the aftermarket.
- Several reasons for our success, is we employ an aggressive
sales agency based in Central U.S.A.
- Offer a variety of Toilet Handle configurations with little or
no tooling cost to the Toilet manufacturer.
- Fast and accurate shipments to accommodate the demand flow that
in incorporated in any form of manufacturing.
- A knowledgeable and attentive workstaff (both in office and out
in the manufacturing plant) that works together to complete all
orders on time.
- An organized workstaff outside of the office (such as freight
forwarders and custom brokers).
- We never leave a customer on the hook. Return all calls
promptly and answer without hesitation.
- To further our growth along with the Toilet manufacturing
industry, we have constructed a 36,000
square foot expansion to our existing building.
- This expansion will accommodate a larger tonnage of injection
moulding machinery which in turn will allow us to manufacture a
variety of plastic components for the Toilet Manufacturing
industry.
We have won an award from the city of Scarborough for export
development in 1997.
We are exporting to China.
We export over 90% of our products.
As of October 1999, we are an ISO 9001 Registered Company.
