EOA is currently devoted to the design, development,
production, marketing and distribution of science educational
resources in new media formats, integrating CD-ROM, Internet
Campus and printed materials.
EOA Scientific also participates in science research and new
media game/computer-based training product development contracts
for government and private clients. EOA Scientific conducts
several activities relating to development and marketing of
educational products: 1. Production of the EarthStation Library/Strategy Games,
product lines of earth, space and environmental interactive
multimedia CD-ROM and Internet Campus products. Current
development will result in completion of comprehensive products
in all of earth and space sciences by the end of 1999. Starting
next year we will proceed to develop resources for all science
learning outcomes for grades 4-12 plus college and industry.
Educational products will span the range of life, physical,
environmental, earth and space sciences. Entertainment products
will reflect the excitement inherent in our physical world in a
new perspective that integrates learning and fun.
2. Marketing and sales of the EarthStation Library/Strategy
Games.
3. Production of educational interactive multimedia CD-ROM and
Internet delivery of educational content for government and
private clients using the EarthStation Lesson Engine.
4. Research and development of new technologies for educational
multimedia, especially with Internet delivery.
5. Scientific research in earth and environmental sciences,
especially climate change and application of satellite remote
sensing.
6. Colaboration contracts with global partners in the delivery
of educational content on CD-ROM and Internet.
The Texas Education Agency recently approved for adoption, Earth-
Ocean-Atmosphere Explorer as FULLY COMPLIENT EQUIVALENT TO A
TEXTBOOK for a new Earth Science course beginning in Sept. 99-
June 2005, a "First" for a North American educational software
product. There are currently 38,000 students in Texas registered
for this course.

Technology:
The EarthStation Lesson Engine was developed and refined as a
navigation graphic interface for EarthStation educational
content. In order to fulfill the vision of a comprehensive
library of titles, research was devoted to development of an
engine that would be independent of the particular content
topic. This Lesson Engine is now available for application to
clients for authoring of their content, with only minor
customizing. Since the cost for software development is so
high, and the life cycle so rocky with unforeseen technical
problems, the EarthStation Lesson Engine is a valuable asset
that allows EOA Scientific to acquire contracts and co-
production collaborations.
R - D continues in order to maintain and enhance the corporate
advantage in development of quality products. Currently, and for
the immediate future, research is devoted to Internet delivery
of eductional content. In this context, EOA Scientific is
forming collaborations with a number of major R - D and
educational delivery companies. With support from the National
Research Council, the company will be devoting significant
resources to development of a platform-independent Internet-
based delivery system for the entire EarthStation Library. This
currently includes approximately 3 gigabytes of organized
educational content.
