Eurocopter Canada Limited (ECL) operating in Canada since 1984 is a subsidiary of Eurocopter, the world's largest designer and manufacturer of civil and military helicopters. Eurocopter, in turn, is a Division of EADS, a world leader in aerospace, defence and related services.
ECL provides a broad range of services: aircraft sales, manufacturing, engineering, and 24/7 nation-wide customer support. The head office and 135,000 ft2 manufacturing facility is in Fort Erie, Ontario; Customer Support Centre is located in Richmond, BC. Today, ECL supports 166 customers who collectively operate more than 560 aircraft in Canada.
ECL offers a wide range of multi-purpose helicopters; from the light single-engine EC120, EC130 B4, and AS350 B2/B3 to the twin-engine AS355, EC155, EC225, AS365 and the new generation twin-engine EC135, EC145 and EC175. ECL performs completions for export markets, develops options and manufactures composite components for the global Eurocopter fleet.
The ECL engineering department is a Design Approval Organization (DAO) certified for the development and flight testing of aircraft options and modifications. At ECL's Transport Canada (TC) certified training centre, we offer maintenance and approved pilot training. ECL is a registered AS 9100 facility and meets the requirements for Transport Canada's CAR 571, European EASA 145 and FAA FAR 145 maintenance organizations.
Other areas of expertise include certified overhauls and major repairs to dynamic components such as transmissions, gearboxes, main rotor heads and swash plates. Other capabilities include hydraulic component overhaul, sheet metal and composite fabrication and repair. ECL offers customers complete helicopter support including blade repair, and new and used aircraft customization.
