Welcome to Extreme Engineering™ - a leading supplier of Measurement While Drilling (MWD) products to the oil and gas industry. Incorporated in 2001, Extreme Engineering™ (Extreme) started as a group of industry experts focused on developing, engineering and manufacturing (OEM) a new suite of MWD tools – Mud Pulse, Electromagnetic (EM), and Acoustic telemetry. In 2005 Extreme began offering its first survey tool rental service, XPulse®, to local clients in Western Canada. Early adopters helped to re-develop the technology into what is now known as Survey On Connection®, a widely accepted industry service operating in five provinces, 11 states, and nine countries during the 2010 calendar year.
In 2006, Extreme separated into two business units – Extreme Engineeringâ„¢ operating the XPulse® product line; and XACT Acoustic Telemetry offering the XACTâ„¢ product line. By 2007, Extreme had deployed the world€™s first fully unmanned EM MWD tool. The fleet is now approaching 400 MWD strings operating across N. America and several other countries globally with proven reliability.Extreme has received numerous honors, awards and accolades over the past 10 years, including the coveted R - D 100 and ASTech "Outstanding Commercial Achievements in Science - Technology". Now under new ownership to Schlumberger Limited, Extreme operates as a "division of" focused on the high volume global land markets with its two main products: XPulse® and XEM®. Extreme rents/leases these mud pulse and electromagnetic MWD systems to producers, drilling contractors and directional drilling companies providing a variety of services. Extreme also has built one of the industry leading quick to market engineering teams that develop game changing technologies (DynamX, XHop®, XBit, XHop II).
