In 1973, Rivière-du-Loup installations were acquired by Brant-Allen Industries a firm from Greenwich, Connecticut. The joint partnership between an American publishing company "Dow Jones" and a Quebec Government company "Rexfor" brought the implantation of a second paper machine on the site.
Since then, large investments were made to upgrade the Mill production to more than 750 metric tons per day.
Its two paper machines are classified amongst the best ten (10) in the world. The Rivière-du-Loup mill is also a leader in environmental matters. The mill received the Ecogest prize in 2003 for its contribution to greenhouse gas reduction. The mill is also recognized as being one of the best in North America in controlling its water consumption per ton of paper produced.
F.F. Soucy is proud to be the first pulp and paper mill to have obtained its ISO-9002 certification in North America. Our mill chose its pulp - paper producing technology to maximize the usage of its natural ressources while minimizing liquid, solid and gas rejects in the environment.
Recently, the mill obtained its PFEC and FSC certification to supply our clients with a product that respects the traceability standards.
