Operating name: Fts

FTS was founded in 1980 to address the demanding weather information requirements of the world€™s premier forest fire management agencies. The fire community€™s strong requirements for rock-solid dependability and fast, trouble-free operation shaped FTS€™s early product development efforts and helped create a corporate culture dedicated to meeting the practical needs of its customers.
Today, our equipment and software are measuring, recording, and analyzing changes in watersheds, national forests, nationwide weather system networks, supply streams for drinking water reservoirs, the waters of fish and wildlife refuges and many other environments. Our monitoring stations reflect three decades of technological advancement focused on our goal of designing and manufacturing the world€™s most reliable, simplest to use, and simplest to maintain systems.
Our headquarters, research and design lab, and factory are located in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, with a branch office in Blaine, Washington. From here, we supply equipment around the world, including North America, South America, Asia, and Europe. Comprehensive in-the-field service and installation contracts are available throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
FTS automated environmental monitoring stations and FTS communications technology continue to advance the standard for remote site monitoring systems, from single sites to nationwide networks. FTS equipment and software forms the backbone of some of the world€™s most sophisticated and demanding water and weather monitoring networks: nationwide networks of GOES weather stations; large regional systems of over 200 radio modem stations; and state, provincial, and municipal networks using combinations of cellular, telephone, satellite, and radio modem communications.
FTS stations have proven themselves under the most demanding conditions, from the most remote northern regions of Canada to the sun beaten, wind-blown salt and sand of the Mexican coast. Our customers include over 50 government agencies in the United States, Canada, and Mexico: customers who demand the highest levels of reliability, accuracy, and operational effectiveness.
Today we are hard at work making constant improvements in our existing products and creating new tools and systems for the world€™s meteorological and hydrological monitoring communities.

Testimonial: "For me the decision to go with FTS was based on whether buying the integrated SedEvent system was worth the extra cost. It was"
- William Ehinger Ph.D., Washington State Dept. of Ecology
"We have found FTS' products to be vastly superior in every aspect of data collection and equipment maintenance. I know that I can count on FTS to support their product. Whenever anyone asks me for advice on what to purchase, I recommend FTS in no uncertain terms."
- Karen Sullivan Ph.D., Pacific Lumber Company
"We have been using DTS-12s for several years now and in general have had great experience with them. We have deployed them in everything from Coastal Redwood streams with heavy debris to large mainstream rivers. They have been very reliable for us and can take a beating."
- Cort Pryor, Hydrologist, Graham Matthews and Associates
"I have dealt with FTS for the past 12 years and have always been impressed by the customer service provided after the purchase. I would not hesitate to recommend FTS to anyone."
- Via anonymous customer satisfaction survey
"We have no drift, no expensive instrument calibration and no changing of instruments with the DTS-12. We estimate that this step alone saves us about $2,000 per instrument, per year in maintenance costs."
- Rish Rossen, Pacific Lumber Company
"It's always a pleasure to deal with FTS. I don't make that comment about many other suppliers."
- Via anonymous customer satisfaction survey
"We purchased the SedEvent turbidity threshold sampling system over 4 years ago and have had nearly flawless performance. The equipment is reliable, rugged, and designed with the end user in mind. This is literally a "turn-key" system that allows my field staff to concentrate on the field work, rather than troubleshooting the electronics."
- William Ehinger Ph.D., Washington State Dept. of Ecology
"I find the DTS-12 to be superior for measuring turbidity. We have been able to reduce the number of technicians needed significantly."
- Chuck Schager, Pacific Lumber Company
"For years of monitoring construction site storm water run off, the equipment has been highly reliable."
- Scott Stoneman, OTAK
