Success Stories: GlobalFlow Inc. was able to assist Grizzly Resources in their project pre-planning, constructability and design in the Shackleton area. The fabrication shop worked with Grizzly Resources to design the skids that included optimization features that were developed in house by Barry Mildenberger of GlobalFlow.
The SCADA system was designed in house by GlobalFlow technical services and implemented in the field by Entegra Controls. Since Entegra was intimately involved with the design phase they are very capable of handling any maintenance issues that arise. The technical services department designed the system to have remote access to the Host software; this feature saves the client considerable cost when commissioning new sites as well as day to day costs for Host maintenance.
Our technical services department developed a plan with operations to use the SCADA system at Grizzly to track test numbers for the engineers when a new well is brought on line. Previously the client was paying a third party company approximately $7000/well, we eliminated this cost. We are currently working on the method to further decrease this cost.
Brad Paschinski of Entegra Controls worked with Grizzly operations to implement glycol heat tracing in the well skids, the Catadyne heater is used to heat the glycol and then it is circulated through to the wellhead and back. This has eliminated the need for methanol at the well site. Since the Grizzly wells are in a sensitive environmental area this type of closed system saves trips to the well site and the cost of methanol.
