U.S. FAA Flight Services
A hybrid TDM/VoIP communications system was provided for the FAA€™s Flight Services 21st Century (FS21) project. The project included the system design and supply of communications infrastructure for a dynamic communications network of FAA automated flight services stations.
NAV CANADA - Backup Communication System (BUCS)
A unique Backup Communication System was engineered for NAV CANADA that was designed to take over communication on a progressive, position-by-position basis should the main VCCS fail. For this program, 12 large-scale Liberty-STAR networked switches are used in Area Control Centers, Terminal Control Units and Control Towers across Canada.
NAV CANADA - Radio Telecom Interface Multiplexer (RTIM)
As part of a nation-wide radio replacement program, NAV CANADA is installing over 2,000 units at 320 sites across Canada. The RTIM was designed to provide remote radio control capabilities, improve radio coverage in the north and interface with any legacy equipment while at the same time being ready for future communications protocols.
Abu Dhabi
One of the most advanced air traffic management systems in the world€”Abu Dhabi International Airport serving as a center for air operations in the Middle East€”chose the Liberty-STAR VCCS along with an Emergency Communications System with VHF Radios, a voice and data recorder, Crash Alarm and Low Visibility Procedures Intercom System package from Harris.
U.S. SCOPE Command
SCOPE Command is a highly automated, High-Frequency (HF) communication, command, and control (C3) system for globally deployed strategic and tactical airborne platforms.
United Kingdom
Voice communications for the modernization of HF communications were provided to the United Kingdom€™s Defence High Frequency Service. Seven fully digital Liberty-STAR voice communication switches were delivered.
NASA

Antarctica
Liberty-STAR is the primary VCCS at McMurdo Station in the Antarctic€”the logistics hub of the U.S. Antarctic scientific research program. It provides reliable communications in a truly harsh and demanding environment.
Afghanistan
Liberty-STAR was also selected by NATO for the Kandahar air base as well as deployed by the U.S. Air Force in five mobile systems supporting Operation Freedom.
NORAD
A customized voice communication system was engineered whereby air-to-ground and ground-to-ground circuits would connect to the VCCS exclusively over T1. The circuits in this system connect to remote radios using an efficient, proprietary, tone-based scheme for control.
Taiwan
The Liberty-STAR is deployed in mobile and fixed towers by both the Taiwan Air Force and Civil Aviation Authority for ATC operations.
