Installed an antenna farm on the roof of the building of C-band, Ku-band and DBS satellite antennas as well as UHF and MMDS antennas to provide analogue, digital, high definition video and other signals to a headend room. Installed the headend equipment including Motorola and Scientific Atlanta equipment as well as extensive patch panels and distribution amplifiers. Five cable distribution networks were provided from the headend to 100 locations comprised of office cubicles and laboratory positions. One network is a fixed network comprised of various television signals derived from the satellite feeds and local cable. Two networks are individual ASI networks, which can be set up with appropriate signals, required by the software developers and two networks are trunks or tie lines that allow any signal to be patched to any location. The developers of chip sets for set top boxes use the signals.
LinCsat
Developed and conducted a test plan to determine antenna sizes required in various regions of the Canadian Arctic to provide two-way internet service via satellite. Much of the area in question was located at the beam edge of the satellite footprint.
Performed antenna testing to evaluate the suitability of a new antenna product for the LinCsat service.
Cancom
Designed, provided and installed an eight channel Ku-band multiplex combiner. An additional feature of this multiplex is that a 1:2 antenna redundancy waveguide network was incorporated in the design allowing for ease of maintenance and emergency service restoration of the two main antennas. The multiplex is also designed to allow ease of expansion for future services.
Saskatchewan Communication Network
Provided an IP gateway and receiving terminal consisting of antenna and receiver/routers for the delivery of IP over satellite as part of a distance education network. The transmit gateway is multiplexed into an existing video compression multiplex transmitting from Regina.
ATI Research
Installed an extensive cable distribution network including nine satellite receiving antennas to provide analogue, digital, high definition video and other signals to thirty offices and sixteen laboratory positions. There were two separate networks originating from a headend and each of the offices and laboratory positions were equipped with both network feeds. One satellite antenna is steerable and able to receive both C and Ku band signals from any satellite in the arc. The headend includes patching facilities to allow any signal to be patched to any office or laboratory position.

Designed, installed and commissioned a redundant satellite uplink in Buffalo to transmit a multiplex of digital video compression services using General Instrument compression technology to the Anik E2 satellite as part of the overall First Choice direct-to-home satellite service providing service throughout Canada.
Saskatchewan Communication Network
Designed and installed a redundant Ku-band satellite earth station in Regina, SK to transmit a DVB signal containing video, audio and IP data over Anik E1. This system replaced two independent uplink systems, combining the services from the previous uplinks into one transmission thus providing greater efficiencies of bandwidth allowing for the addition of new services within the original allocation of bandwidth.

Installed a redundant IP gateway system at Teleglobe€™s Munich satellite earth station facility to provide wideband IP over satellite to India via the LMI-1 satellite.

Designed, installed and commissioned two redundant satellite uplink sites. The station employs a steerable 4.6m antenna that is capable of transmitting to Atlantic Ocean satellites and satellites in the North American arc.
