Most of LandMapper's commercial work is based on use and
application of the LandMapR toolkit of computer programs and
procedures. The LandMapR toolkit is one of a very limited
number of integrated computer-based approaches currently being
used for commercial, operational scale automated predictive
mapping of soils, landforms and ecological entities in Canada
or elsewhere. The LandMapR toolkit is being used to research
new, improved and much lower-cost approaches for producing maps
of soils, landforms and ecological entities at several
locations in Canada, the UK, the USA and Australia. The
LandMapR toolkit is demonstrating that it is possible to create
maps of ecological entities, soils or landforms at very low
costs (pennies per hectare) and at maximum attainable
accuracies for very large areas of millions of hectares. In
the emerging field of automated predictive mapping, the
LandMapR tolkit stands out as one of the few applications to
have made the transition from research vehicle to a tool for
fully operational commmercial-scale application.
