Made-To-Fit Garment Inc., was founded by Mr. George Simon in
1942. Since the start, the company has been specializing in the
manufacturing of children's clothing from sizes 6 months to 16
years.
In 1962 and 1963 respectively, the two sons of George Simon,
Ronald and Kenneth joined the family enterprise.
In 1966, Mr. George Simon passed away and the leadership of the
company was left to his two sons, Ronald and Kenneth.
In 1974, the company created a log ``KRICKETS,`` which is still
being used on all merchandise. Since this development, all the
company's marketing strategy has been based on the ``KRICKETS``
logo. This brand line has becom a national leader in the
Canadian market for childrenswear.
In 1982, the Simon brothers recognized the need for coofinate
``tops`` to match the ``bottom`` that their company was already
producing. The manufacturing of these ``tops`` was handled by
other Canadian companies under the ``KRICKETS`` license.
In 1987, the company decided to make their own ``tops`` (in knit)
and a small plant of 11,000 square feet in Montreal was used for
this purpose.
The head office is currently in Montreal, with a location of
30,000 square feet. All administrative offices, design, sampling,
receiving and shipping of merchandise,
finishing and inspecting of clothing is done at the head
office on Chabanel street.
All ``KRICKETS`` sales have been backed by a socially conscious
marketing strategy. Various promotional items hav been used
throughout the years - gifts with purchase, ``KRICKETS`` watches,
hair pieces, sunglasses, crayons, colouring books, balloons,
activity books and educational kits.
Made-To-Fit Garment Inc. Is celebrating its 53rd Anniversary this
year. This Canadian company currently employs more than 100
people. KRICKETS is proud to be a Canadian-made line and of
Canadian quality.
