This state-of-the-art development enables dramatic improvements in access to two-way, high-speed Internet services for consumers and businesses throughout North America. With Telesat's Anik F2, North Americans will have access to the most advanced broadband services - anywhere and anytime.
During mid 2005, Telesat and NorthwesTel Cable partnered to create the Netkaster service into the existing cable operation at NorthwesTel. Over the next few months, NorthwesTel formed internal teams to manage and operate all aspects of the Netkaster service and finally in September 2005, NorthwesTel Cable launched Netkaster across NWT - Nunavut. Testimonial: €œI€™ve had the NetKaster service for almost a year now and it€™s fantastic,€? said Leo Lareau of Baker Lake, Nunavut. €œCompared to other Internet services that we€™ve tried, NetKaster provides faster download speeds, better service and more economical pricing. I feel lucky to have a service that meets so many of our needs.€?
Lareau and his family use the Internet to download music, send and receive emails and messages, do homework, play games, and check the weather and the news. €œThings went well right from the beginning,€? added Lareau. €œThe installation technician helped us set everything up, so it was very easy for us. As well, NetKaster€™s technical support is excellent. Whenever I call, I get the help I need right away. Of course, the service is so good, I€™ve only had to call for technical support twice in the past year.€?
