SHUR-STOR SYSTEMS produces a specialized humidification
system for potato storages, carrot storages and other
vegetables.
The FOGMASTER humidification system is capable of maintaining
95%+ humidity levels in the storage, which means that the
product
can be kept fresh and firm for a period of up to one year.
FOGMASTER uses a combination of compressed air and
pressurized water blasted through a specially designed nozzle to
produce a fine fog which envelopes the product in the storage.
It
creates a positive vapour pressure around each tuber, maintains
or
replaces the moisture given off by the product through natural
respiration.
FOGMASTER is the only commercial unit capable of pumping
fungicides and bactericides up through a pile of potatoes 5
metres
deep. Refrigeration in potato and vegetable storages dries out
the
product causing serious weight loss.
The FOGMASTER humidification system replenishes the moisture
taken out by refrigeration and the product stays fresh and firm.
Our major Canadian and export customers include McCain Foods,
Hostess/Frito-Lay and Cavendish Farms. We currently export to
markets in Argentina, U.S.A., U.K., and Hungary.
FOGMASTER is produced in several models to meet the
requirements of individual growers.
