To capture greater value from these forestry operations, Tl'azt'en Nation set up Teeslee Forest Products Ltd. in order to construct and operate a sawmill near Fort St. James. Because of the very competitive sawmilling industry, the Tl'azt'en Nation is still struggling to make this a viable operation.
Although focused primarily on issues related to the forestry industry, Tanizul Timber Ltd. has expanded to include services related to the protection of waterways and wildlife management. Training and education remain integral components of the Tanizul Timber Ltd. approach to sustainable resource management.
