The Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel Laboratory and the Alan G. Davenport Wind Engineering Group have assisted designers of some of the tallest buildings and longest bridges in the world since its inception in 1965. Wind climates, wind-induced structural loads, cladding pressures, pedestrian level winds, ventilation requirements, rain and snow effects are examined through sophisticated wind tunnel studies. Testing facilities include two large boundary layer wind tunnels with state of the art instrumentation and computational services. Evaluations of dampers, full scale monitoring and customized instrumentation development are additional services offered to enable cost-effective solutions to aerodynamic issues.
