HISTORY
Zenair Ltd has been manufacturing aircraft since 1974. Worldwide, there are over 2000 Zenair aircraft flying in more than 40 countries. The company has established a reputation in the world aircraft community as a stable, professional, knowledgeable and quality aircraft manufacturer. Zenair is in the aircraft kit market industry, selling
aircraft kits to customers, who complete the aircraft at home. Due to new demands in the aircraft market, domestic and international, Zenair is now manufacturing a new certified aircraft, the Alarus CH2000. The Alarus CH 2000 has been in production since early 1996, with already over 150 aircraft flying. The aircraft is FAA certified, Utility / Normal category, IFR/VFR Night, Spin certified. Manufactured out of aluminum, the aircraft is tough and easy to maintain. The Lycoming engine makes this aircraft the perfect choice for flight training. Zenair is a Canadian-owned company located in modern production facilities at Huronia Airport, Midland ON, 60 miles North of Toronto. Zenair is recognized as a pioneer in the sport aircraft industry with +30 years experience designing, developing, manufacturing and marketing light aircraft.
Exports sales represent 90% of all sales. Zenair designs have developed an excellent reputation and have each earned the NASAD Seal of Approval.
Mr. Chris Heintz, President and founder of Zenair, is a highly respected aeronautical engineer with over thirteen successful aircraft deigns to his credit. Mr. Heintz is a DAR (Design approval Representative), authorized to "sign-off" on behalf of the Canadian Ministry of Transport, and is a sought-after light aircraft engineering consultant by governments, universities, organizations, private individuals and other manufacturers.
Prior to creating Zenair, Mr. Heintz had worked for Aérospatiale (on the supersonic Concorde jetliner), with Avions Robin, also in France, with Embraer in Brazil, and with de Havilland in Toronto.
Zenair is committed to the advancement of sport aviation, is a member and supporter of the sport Aircraft Manufacturers Association (SAMA), UAA, LAMAC, EAA, RAAC, AOPA, COPA, LAMA, NATA and NASAD, and has been consistently recognized for its
contribution to the industry.
