IBR is an innovative environmental biotechnology company that uses a proprietary process to convert biodegradable waste (food waste, agricultural waste, sewage sludge) into pathogen-free, organic products through an enhanced version of a process referred to as autogenous thermophilic aerobic digestion (ATAD). IBR collects and receives biodegradable waste(s), which makes up 25-30% of the waste going into landfills, from growers, wholesalers, food processors, hotels, institutions, hospitals, produce retailers, restaurants and soon households.
When these biodegradable waste materials are released untreated into the environment they become a source of serious pollution problems, including odours, offgases and leachates. IBR uses thermophilic (heat-responsive) bacteria to process organic waste over a 72-hour period with zero harmful environmental discharge. (Manures and sewage sludge also can be processed in less than 72 hours with complete pathogen removal). The digested waste is converted into a variety of high-value, nutrient-rich, organic fertilizer products sold in liquid and dry pellet form as Genica .
Primary clients of IBR are the Industrial/Commercial/Institutional organic waste generators such as hotels, hospitals, produce wholesalers, grocery outlets, restaurants, airports, who rely on IBR to process their organic waste. Residential curbside collection of organic waste(s) is currently being implemented in British Columbia and will be in full operation in selected communities in the near future. IBR provides an environmental service to these customers and processes the waste using the proprietary technology that converts it into high protein, high nutrient fertilizers.
An IBR plant is a totally equipped facility for processing and converting between 50 and 1200 metric tons of organic waste per day. Its compact size and zero impact on the surrounding environment means it can be located close to the prime sources of organic waste materials and potential customers. Less hauling means fewer trucks and lower waste handling costs. Licensing of Technology The Company is licensing its technology worldwide and plans to build plants in strategic locations.
IBR is actively pursuing the marketing and licensing of its technology nationally and internationally, through direct sales, strategic alliances, joint ventures and a network of international agents. IBR will sell its technology and operating rights for $2,250 per incoming daily ton of plant capacity and royalties of $5.00 per ton of incoming material processed for a specified period of time. IBR is a publicly listed company trading on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol "IBR".
