The company was founded in 1986, and is a Canadian company with
expertise in vapour metallurgy, especially the chemical vapour
deposition of nickel, other metals and alloys. CVD
manufacturing's proprietary technology includes a novel metal-
forming process, growing pure metals from gases. The process
was originally a refining process, but is
now also a method for quickly making extremely accurate moulds
and metal coatings.
The main advantage is the speed of growth of the metal (nickel
grows in the CVD process about 20 times faster than traditional
electroforming!)
The CVD-formed moulds can be used in conjunction with rapid
prototyping patterns in many diverse applications, such as
injection moulding, blow moulding, net nickel shapes, etc. This
technology allows mouldmakers, moulders, scientists and others
to respond to rapidly changing markets, reducing costs and
shortening product development time.
The licensable CVD process offers rapid turn-around times,
surface accuracy on an atomic level, faster cycle time, and
technologically superior solutions to tooling problems in
comparison with existing manufacturing processes.
Growth rates of between 0.05 mm/h to 0.75 mm/h can be obtained
on surfaces held at temperatures between 110 deg. C. and 190
deg.C. CVD's unique features are widely recognized by the
scientific and industrial community for its ability to reproduce
the surface detail of a master down to the finest texture and
smoothness without the residual stresses found in other
deposition processes.

Products:
Die/mould, injection moulding, plastic, nes, Nickel vapour deposition, Chemical vapour deposition of nickel, Nvd, Cvd of nickel, Nickel parts and coatings, Injection mould tool inserts, Metal coatings and net shapes, Ultra-pure metal powders and coatings, Metal refining

Technology:
Vapour metal refining processes (e.g. the "carbonyl process" for
refining base metals, such as Nickel) can be applied to many
metals in the transition group (Nickel, Cobalt, Iron, Manganese,
Tungsten, Molybdenum, Chromium, etc.) as well as Beryllium and
metals in the platinum group (Platinum, Palladium, Osmium,
Irridium, Ruthenium, Rhenium and Rhodium)
The CVMR process delivers very pure metal and significantly
lower operating cost than traditional processes. The CVMR
process can produce pellets, net shapes, coatings, powders and
foams, according to market needs, by simply changing the process
decomposition parameters - without altering the
separation/extraction/refining steps.
