Dr. Lyon-Villiger, whom I first met at a World Bank/International Montary Fund meeting, is a first-class financial economist, a skilled negotiator, and an extremely efficient administrator and manager. She is a member of the National Association of Business Economists, Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A., The National Economists Club, Washington, D.C., the National Association of Business Economists, Boston, Mass., the Society of Government Economists, Washington, D.C., the Eastern Economic Association, Storrs, CT, as well as an active member of the Canadian Federation of University Women, the Int. Federation of University Women in Geneva, Switzerland. (Past-President: CFUW-Ottawa), the CFUW-Literature Group, the Canadian Authors Association (NCR Chapter), the International Writers Club (writers.com), and she is the Past Committee Chairman of the National Retinitis Pigmentosa Foundation (Ottawa-Hull Chapter) and is the elected representative from Canada to the Council of Swiss Abroad in Berne, Switzerland. She is a director and Board member of Lind'berg International Holdings (financial holding company), Bergstrom House (printing and publishing), Wolfburg Holdings (real estate), and Besserstein International (Import-Export), and, of course, the Ottawa Valley Swiss Club, Inc., which is mentioned here. She wrote an interesting series of children's stories, explaining complex scientific and financial topics in easily understandable fairytales. She has published several novels in England and America under her nom de plume, Klothild de Baar, as well as various professional theses, articles and publications, particularly on Pareto Optimality in petrodollar circulation. She has travelled to almost every country of the world, often to international development projects. And last but now least, she is the most interesting dinner companion with wonderful stories and a great sense of humour. If she ran, she would have my vote for the Presidency of this country. J.A.D.
