I met John Francis Zembwe about ten years ago when his family was sponsored for settlement here in Canada by our Anglican Parish Church, St. John the Evangelist, here in London, Ontario, Canada. John and his family worshiped with us for a time, but moved first to North Park Community Church in London, Ontario and now is associated with Open Door Christian Fellowship in London, Ontario. John had been associated with a Pentecostal Style church in Africa, Calvary Church. He had been involved in missionary work in Africa before he came to Canada. After John became a permanent resident and later a citizen of Canada John began to return to Africa to do missionary work for extended periods. His wife and children remained in Canada. On one of these trips to Africa his wife Nabita accompanied him. He, his wife, Nabita, and four of his daughters are now in Africa for a period of missionary work which will extend to one year. Other children have completed education and live independently in Canada. One daughter moved to Australia, and two sons are completing university in Canada while continuing to live here. While living in Canada John Francis Zembwe completed a Diploma in Social Work at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. He worked for a time as a Janitor in Canada. Nabita continued to work as a school janitor here in Canada for much of her time here.
