Technology:
HDE holds patents on its heating technology that sets it apart from other infrared heaing equipment, allowing a full surface infrared emission over a very large area. The infrared power allows HDE to shine in heating in motion to provide a tool to the solution of a major pavement construction problem today, the centerline joint.

Sector:
Unique Applications: The HDE infrared heater is used to solve one of the most critical problem in asphalt pavement construction today, the centerline/lane widening longitudinal joint. The use of the heater allows reheating of the uncompacted edge of pavements during new construction to enable recompaction and prevent water permeability so ensures longer pavement life.
The same process can be used to repair deteriorated/poor joints and the best example is repairs on a newly constructed joints on Pennsylvania Ave at the White House in Washington DC, USA.
Success Stories: Lafarge Construction of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia successfully used the HDE joint heater to better place the asphalt pavement on reconstruction of the Shearwater Heliport, replacing the conventional FAA specification of cutting away the cold, uncompacted joint with a reheated joint.
Aggregate Industries of Baltimore, Maryland successfully used the longitudinal joint heate to repair a failed joint on a unique coloured pavement installed on Pennsylvania Ave in front of the White House in Washington DC. Stories were written up in four trade journals
Tennessee DOT maintenance division used HDE's unique asphalt recycler to make hot mix pothole filler out of waste asphalt for repairing potholes in the winter when hot mix was not available, then awarded a low bid to HDE for 24 units to be applied in maintenance divisions througout Tennessee.
