Physicians or other healthcare professionals know they have a responsibility to ensure their education continues throughout their entire career. Professional Development - Conferencing Services (PDCS) is an academic and service unit of the Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University.
PDCS provides innovative, accredited continuing medical education/continuing professional development (CME/CPD) in a variety of formats to promote lifelong learning, facilitate recruitment and retention, and enhance competencies and performance of health care professionals, faculty and students.
We also promote a host of partnering opportunities within the public / private sectors outside the university environment. These include research, developing online learning and web / video / audio conferencing.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is key to keeping physicians and health care professionals informed and influences best practices as evidenced by its growing importance within the health community. MDcme.ca is an initiative of PDCS designed to provide credible, flexible and accessible CPD opportunities for Canadian health care professionals.
Online learning through MDcme.ca is flexible and accessible making it uniquely situated to fit into any physician or healthcare professionals€™ busy schedule. MDcme.ca delivers evidence based, trusted, and accredited online CME in a number of therapeutic areas. Practice management tools, links to reference sources and materials, and course management tools provide additional value to the user€™s educational experience.
By taking courses via MDcme.ca, participants can register at any time and gain immediate access to courses. The modules are delivered in a self-directed environment where case management approaches are provided for case scenarios. Discussion board areas are available to learners so they can discuss content/cases with fellow participants. MDcme.ca courses also feature an €œEmail a Specialist€? for further information related to content/cases.
