Karma began in 2006 with a single consulting contract providing Marketing and Communications services with a Métis focus for the Belcourt Brosseau Métis Awards program, administered by the Edmonton Community Foundation. With the mentorship and guidance of three entrepreneurial Métis men, Dr. Herb Belcourt, Georges Brosseau QC and Orval Belcourt, who are great role models for success in their communities, I became a consultant. These three men, through Canative Housing, made the largest, most effective investment in the growth and development of the Métis people in Alberta.
Karma began to grow with a good reputation of service delivery within the Aboriginal business community. Karma is now incorporated and working with many sub-contractors fulfilling contracts and helping to advance the missions of Aboriginal organizations in Alberta. Karma is a Métis owned and operated business operating in Alberta by Theresa Majeran.
Karma provides a wide range of marketing and branding, communications and project management consulting specializing in education and health initiatives. Focusing on youth in both areas.

Cause and effect. For each action there is an equal and opposite reaction. There are a lot of ways to describe karma, but it is essentially the belief that your present circumstances are the product of previous actions, and what you do today will affect what happens tomorrow.

The Belcourt Brosseau Métis Awards Annual celebration first held in 2006 has been a very successful cultural event within Alberta€™s Métis community, with attendance of approximately 400 guests each year. Planning all the aspects of a large event including venue/menu selection, designing an evening program with a cultural component (The Métis Sash Ceremony), selecting entertainment, arranging for speakers, volunteers, invitations and guest list, hotel room booking, networking session prior to the event, and budget management both from a cost and revenue generation perspective. Sponsorship raised for this event is now over $148,000.00 for the four years. Over 50 different government, corporate and community partners have now been involved in the celebrations. Approximately 200 Métis Sashes have been presented to the recipients of the Belcourt Brosseau Métis Awards. This event has now grown to be a €œmust attend€? event which provides an opportunity to share the pride experienced by Métis students as they begin their educational journeys or enter into their careers.
