Visual8 and SIMUL8 Corporations are pleased to announce the release of the jointly developed SIMUL8-Planner. This unprecedented, new product permits the user to turn useful simulation models into detailed Planning Production and Scheduling Systems.
Lean-Modeler
Visual8 and SIMUL8 Corporations are also pleased to announce the release of Lean-Modeler, a value-stream mapping tool that takes the guess work out of your future state modeling. This software takes away the 'leap-of-faith' associated with static maps, by providing performance results on a simulation operation of the future state over time with variation.
Key / Major Clients: CLIENTS - TESTIMONIALS
Visual8 is the principal support agent for SIMUL8 in North America. Our consultants have many years of SIMUL8 training and consulting with clients such as Ford, Kodak, Knoll Group, GM, Best Foods, U.S. Army, UASF, Disney, HP, Fidelity, Nibco, American Standard, Magna, Visteon, BNSF, Union Pacific, OPG, McDonalds, Husky, Cardinal Health, Johnson Controls, Children€™s Welfare League of America, Moen, Corning, Kelly Services, CIBC, Capital One, Doerun, 3M, Quad Graphics, StorageTek, TRW, CEMEX, Ontario Hydro, Ispat Steel, The Children€™s Hospital of Philadelphia, Novartis, Boeing, Dell, etc.
Success Stories: HUGHES SPACE AND COMMUNICATIONS
A facilities planning study used simulation to design and cost a high-volume satellite production facility. The simulation included the assembly methodology, plant layout, staffing and equipment requirements. The study provided the production plan needed to allow Hughes to reduce production cycle-times from one month to one day.
FORD MOTOR COMPANY
Our consultants have assisted various Ford Assembly plants in the use and application of simulation for plant layout, materials handling systems, robotic assembly design, and manpower planning. These projects have typically included workshop-training programs to help transfer this technology to line management for their ongoing use on other simulation applications. Typical capital cost savings of 10% of the project cost are reported through the use of simulation.
CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILWAYS
Developed a Maintenance-of-the-Way Simulator that is designed to structure Rail - Tie Crews that are used to repair the track. The system simulates the various functions within the Work Crews with their compliment of machines and operators. Given a section of track the tool is used to estimate the duration of the work for a specified gang and block time. The tool has saved the Railroad over $4 million in labor and equipment savings.
FALCONBRIDGE LIMITED
A simulation was developed for one of the world€™s largest mining operations located in Northern Ontario, Canada to analyze material flows and underground storage requirements. The model is currently being used to investigate future mine expansion requirements. The model, which provides an animated view of the workings of the mine, is helping management to better co-ordinate hoisting of miners and equipment with the extraction of ore. Recently,
management saved the company $10 million through cost-avoidance based on the simulation results.
Testimonial: "I wanted to let you know how much me and PJ enjoyed your class. The individual attention we received helped us apply the simulations to real world situations." Rich Muckey, IBP
"The class was essential to our success at quickly understanding and applying the SIMUL8 tool to our needs." Robert Shaw, Kelly Services Inc.
"The "hands-on" part of the course allowed me to build a simulation model that I found immediately useful for improving operations back in our company's repair shop" Brad Smythe, Romac Engineering.
"The course booklet became a great reference after class. The instructors were not just reading from the book, they are real consultants who use the software. They could answer real questions about simulating the real world. I would quickly recommend these courses/software to my colleagues." Susan Lackey, Moen Corporation
"Thank you very much for the training. It was very helpful and I am excited about us deploying the tool on many of our projects. From one instructor to another, thank you for being patient with us." C.J. Renegar , Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway
