Designed, developed and delivered 8D Problem solving workshops for approx 20 employees representing quality, logistics and senior management. Provided guidance and support for the sustainable implementation of a formal problem solving methodology to augment their corrective action process.

Optical Security Materials
Designed, developed and delivered a workshop €œFailure Mode and Effects Analysis€? to identify potential problem areas in product designs and processes for the Bank of Canada€™s Optical Security Material production processes. Prioritized improvement areas and created action plans for improvements.
Assessment of Data Quality for the National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI)
Environment Canada
Assessment of the current level of data quality being collected for the NPRI by over 4,000 facilities across Canada. The assessment is part of a business case study and requires interviews with representation form all stakeholders including NPRI staff, support departments, data providers, critical clients. A questionnaire was developed to use for the interviews and is based on the Treasury Board€™s Risk Management practices. Final report will include current status and risk assessment, options for the NPRI to improve the level of confidence of received pollutant data, and recommendations to proceed.
Pilot implementation of an ISO 9000 Quality Management System in the National Hydrometric Program (NHP)
Environment Canada
Conducted gap analysis and reports for the pilot areas of the National Hydrometric ISO 9000 program in Winnipeg and Ottawa. Completed training of pilot project team and area staff in the introduction and implementation of ISO 9000. Facilitated pilot team workshops throughout the implementation process including the creation and monitoring of pilot project plan. Guided team members through the development of a Quality Policy Manual and nation-wide Core Processes including the identification of nation-wide support processes. Continue to act as a guide and mentor for the pilot team and location staff. Currently developing many of the support processes with team members. Will train internal audit team members and lead internal audits for the pilot sites in Winnipeg and Ottawa.
Guide US organization on Journey to Excellence.

Facilitated an assessment session with 40 representative employees to the USA €œMalcolm Baldrige Award Excellence criteria€?. Identified the €œCritical Few€? project activities the organization will pursue improvement on. Designed, developed and facilitated training workshops to guide the project improvement teams through the €œPlan, Do Study, Act€? improvement cycle including the identification of clear objectives, data to collect (including methodology) that will define current status, data organization to show trending and prioritization, improvement theory development, pilot improvements, verification and final global implementations. First set of improvement teams had successful pilot projects completed in Spring 2004.
Guide American Society for Quality Section on Journey to Excellence
American Society for Quality (ASQ) Ottawa Valley Section
Project Team Leader for the €œCanadian Awards for Excellence€? (CAE) initiative in the Ottawa Valley non-profit volunteer association of quality professionals. Led process and management system assessments to the CAE criteria set out by the National Quality Institute (NQI) 2001 and 2002 by facilitating the identification of Strengths, Weaknesses and Opportunities for Improvement. Recorded the proceedings and reported the findings including identification of the vital few objectives with actions on how to achieve them. ASQ Ottawa Valley has received NQI€™s Quality Award PEP Level One.

Identified with 40 participants the organization€™s €œStrengths€? and €œOpportunities for Improvement€? based on the criteria and developed an action plan on site to meet PEP (Progressive Excellence Program) levels One and Two.

Designed, developed and facilitated a workshop to assess Health Canada€™s €œBusiness Excellence and Accountability Services€? to the National Quality Institute€™s €œQuality Fitness€? criteria.
