Jun 1997: Completion of Gender Assessment. This gender
assessment focused on women€™s employment in
telecommunications, and access and control profiles for
women vis a vis communications. The Harvard Analytical
Framework was introduced as a learning tool and guide for
creating a gender strategy. Relevant labour regulations
were identified and plans created with partners re
employment, training and work environment.
Proj: Northeastern Brazil Groundwater Project (PROASNE)
Country: Brazil
Contribution: Gender Equality Incorporated plays a central role in this
project, funded by the Canadian International Development
Agency (CIDA), the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) and
the Geological Survey of Brazil (CPRM) is promoting the
sustainable development of Brazil's groundwater resources,
to bring long term solutions to the serious problem of
drought that affects nearly 25 million people in
Northeastern Brazil.
Proj: Olive Oil Factory
Country: Jordan
Contribution: Vitronov / CIDA, Jordan, Oct 98 –Jan 1999: Completion of
Gender Analysis and Strategy for an olive oil factory in
Jordan. The analysis was developed from consultations with
stakeholders, women€™s NGO reps, government sources etc.
The strategy included a time management study assessing
the impact of the project on women€™s agricultural,
reproductive and community activities and the promotion of
women as educators in the project. Pro-active measures
were developed with the CEA regarding employment creation,
training and work environment.

advocacy to build national awareness of the plight of
women in Afghanistan, project submission and Completion of

Contribution: Gender Resource Development,Thailand, March 2003: Development and editing of a training on the following

and Gender Mainstreaming. This training will be delivered
to participants from numerous countries and includes both
the teaching of theoretical concepts and methodologies as
well as the hands-on, practical application of approaches
regarding the above topics.
