PYLON ELECTRONICS, a Canadian company, was incorporated in 1955
and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Turan Inc. of Weston, Ont.
Pylon is comprised of two operating divisions: the Power
Division which manufactures power equipment and cabling for the
telecomunications market and the Calibration Technologies
Division which is involved in the calibration and repair of
electrical and physical properties equipment.
Power Technologies' operation is located in Mississauga. It
designs and manufactures items such as DC/DC converters,
inverters, ringing generators, battery chargers, and
uniterruptible power supplies as well as a wide variety of
cables.
Calibration Technologies has operations in Ottawa, Dartmouth,
and Mississauga providing calibration and repair services. It
also has a field service operation in Montreal. The Ottawa
facility also has the Instrument Manufacturing Department which
designs, manufactures, and tests unique instrumentation such as
radon and thoron monitors, detectors, and radioactive sources.
