I had Jeff install a microfit rooftop solar setup for me and after numerous delays was finally producing power in August 2011. There were problems right away, mostly with the equipment but it was almost impossible to get Jeff to return a phone call or help finish the installation. In the end, I ended up contacting the inverter manufacturer getting updated circuit boards and switches and getting the communication part set up by myself. I finally got it completed in April 2012. A couple of weeks ago, part of my system went down. I tried for several days by email, phone and cell phone to contact Jeff since the installation is under warranty. I never got a response. I finally hired an electrician and $500 later found out that one of the connectors on my roof was not done properly and shorted out. His warranty appears to be worthless. I will send him a copy of the bill and should he decide not to pay, I will have to pursue him through the courts. What I have seen so far does not leave me optimistic.

At first we trusted this company quite a bit, so much so that we hired them to install and setup our Microfit Solar generation system. We had trouble right from the start when Mr. Somlo misfiled our paperwork with the OPA and we are now experiencing difficulty in getting the paperwork in the proper name, dispite his assurances that it would be no issue at all. We have been trying to get Mr. Somlo to repair 3 powerboxes that have been down for almost 2 months now costing us production and subsequently revenue. He refuses to return phone calls and emails, this has been nothing but an exercise in frustration. Our neighbour who also had him install a system is having similar problems to ours. We are on the verge of having to take legal action and have just learned that the man has now fled the kingston area to the thornhill area - makes me wonder if we will ever have him honour the warranty that is suppose to be with the system? I would definitely not recommend this company to anyone and for anyone who is considering having this company install their system I suggest you strongly rethink this move.
